According to a review of studies published this month in Annals of Internal Medicine found that health insurance coverage correlates to better chances for survival. Having health insurance reduces mortality rates among adults between 18 and 64 years old by between 3 and 29 percent.
According to the Annals review, having health insurance coverage means that conditions like diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure are diagnosed and treated earlier, leading to lower mortality rates.
